Spoilt for Choice

My choice of subjects to paint this past week or so have been very varied as I try and hone my skills in florals and local scenery of which I am so spoilt for choice. Working with watercolour is so interesting because try as you might to control it, the water mixed with the pigment has ideas of its own and at the end of the day you have to work around the resting place it has chosen - so unpredictable and exciting especially with what we call painting loose!
Mixed Poppies

Always such a fun flower to paint, bright and cheery and lends itself to a nice loose style

What's Down There?

These Pelicans were on a jetty on Hindmarsh Island opposite our home - just left of centre and the little Birks Harbour to the left of the painting
