Days of Wine and Roses

The third in my Wine and Song Series. Days of Wine and Roses holds lots of little memorable snippets for me. In my late teens and early twenties I played the Trumpet, had a Cabaret act and this song was one of those I played often. I had a couple starts at creating this work but the painting did not come together as I do not do much planning but build it bit by bit so I washed everything off , covered it with watercolour ground and started again. So pleased I could as this was on a Clayboard Cradled panel and they are not cheap. It includes some of the tissue paper I printed whilst I was waiting for my brick wall episode to end and a piece of database from a sheet music catalog I had compiled whilst working in my retail music business up until 2008. Painting for a series and coming up with a unique work for each one is quite challenging but I love getting lost in the process.
I have also spent some time this week uploading some of my paintings to Redbubble who offer different types of prints on paper and canvas and greeting cards as I know not everyone is in a position to or wants to buy an Original art work. Redbubble prices are most affordable. I believe they print in lots of countries around the world so delivery is cost effective. i.e if you order in Australia delivery comes from Australia. If a work of mine is not included but you would like a print just contact me and I will see if it can be added.

  3. When you paint purely by instinct it is the most rewarding. This is a brilliant piece of art.
