Do Not Disturb

Not much painting in my studio so far this week. Lots of research and collection of inspiration for going forward especially needed for my Wine and Song Series.
Whilst out and about with Camera we found this bee colony which had obviously been there for a few months, busy busy and hanging between some disused wine barrels. I was intrigued with seeing so much bee business this close up and wondered if I could make a painting from my experience. This is it - Watercolour on 300gsm paper, limited palette of Quin Gold, Indigo and Perm Rose. I have included a photo to show you this fabulous find.

  10. I like the way you panted a partial statement of the hexagonal shapes of the honeycomb. It leaves things to the imagination instead of being literal and realistic. Nice work.
