Baby Lucinda Charlie a second daughter for my son and his wife was born on Monday morning. This meant a journey to the city for us in the afternoon and again the following day. I was at the hospital before her big sister of two was brought in by her Oma and Opa and I was able to witness the sheer delight on Matilda's face when she saw her baby sister for the very first time. This is a memory I will treasure for life. I also dressed little Lucinda in her very first clothes. How these little things become so much more important than just about anything else.
Yesterday was day 1 of my open studio as part of the SALA festival. I am opening 12.30-4.30 on each Saturday and Sunday through to August 24th. I normally am in my studio before nine and finish at 3pm and I must say this extra hour and a half tested my stamina. I continued to paint and when visitors arrived I spent time answering questions and sometimes demonstrating a little technique. Am thrilled with the first day as the very first visitors bang on 12.30 purchased two works: Kimberley Terrain and Winter Collection
We are very lucky this weekend to have the rain and wind stop for now and so I hope today will bring more visitors.
Here are some more from my latest series "Small but Big". Each in the series is supplied with a soft white Mat and foam core backing ready to pop into a standard 11" x 14" frame and are priced at $125 AUD. These are original mixed media works in watercolour and archival printed tissue collage. They can be easily posted anywhere in the world and would make unique gifts. Postage within Australia is $10 and for International $20. Please email me if you have a purchase enquiry or if you would like to commission your favourite Aesop fable.
