Many Layers

Pink Blush
Watercolour 28.5cm x 38cm
300gsm Saunders Waterford CP Paper
Available
This is titled "Pink Blush", Gum Nuts and Leaves created with many layers and a limited palette of Antwerp Blue, Permanent Rose and Burnt Sienna.
It was supposed to be a simple example of negative painting that I could later demonstrate in one of my classes but I was really enjoying the colours and process that I couldn't stop and lost count of the many layers so it left being an easy study and became a finished painting.

  3. I always get lost in trying to do negative painting like this - you've made the subjects pop forward so well, it's like an explosion from the depths of the paper to us!
