Scenes that Inspire

Two scenes from the other side of the world that required a little initial drawing, something I don't do much of as I try to keep a "loose" feel to my work. I am really not into drawing and painting between the lines as the neatness and precision does not attract me. Both these scenes are adaptions using references from Paint my Photo that I found inspiring as they are scenes I have seen in my travels.
I do love to add my own bits and pieces to create something unique to me.

  1. Two delightful paintings/memories. Love the addition of the Fish & Chips, and washing line. So reminiscent of the two different places.

  7. Dear Lorraine what wonderful works. Dine in or take away is so colorful. The Venice Line makes me think this scene would be quite common to the area. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Both are great, Lorraine! The top one reminds me of so many waterfront places, and the bottom one takes me right back to Venice. I feel like I'm traveling without pulling my suitcase.
