We all love to paint what inspires us but every now and then a painting is just pure joy from start to finish. I have painted Meerkats before and have many reference photos as they just love to pose for us when we visit Wildlife Parks and Zoos but the inspiration for this one started by seeing an image on line of a huddle of baby meerkat. It made me smile and planted the inspiration seed to create my own nursery of these little cuties.
It has a very limited palette and the addition of Magenta at the final pass added a needed cool to an otherwise warm painting.
The title I have given this came from an unusual source, I have just finished watching a 5 series set of DVDs loaned to me by my sister called Brothers and Sisters and I watched the last episode the day before completing this painting and when choosing a title it just fitted perfectly.
I hope it gives you a smile.
