From the Opera

Inspiration finds us in many ways and sometimes it is as simple as colour. I reaquainted myself before Christmas with two tubes amongst the many in my collection. Opera Rose by Winsor and Newton and Opera Pink by Daniel Smith. They are really the same pigment but do behave slightly differently wet into wet. When I first purchased them I thought them too fluro and didn't enjoy using them but with the past few paintings that has changed. I have used this vibrant colour in my last 4 paintings (including The Devil in Pink from my last post) so maybe I will now look for a new inspiring colour.

  3. I think I have a tube of opera rose rattling around in my collection. I would hope I could use it as successfully as you have. These are very nice!
